If you are like me, you've often wished there were 48 hours in a day instead of just 24. There never seems to be enough time to get everything done that you want. Since we just have about 16 hours a day not counting sleep time, it's important how we use the time we have.
On the average, people waste about 2 hours a day. This is mainly from poor planning. If a person is unorganized, they waste time trying to find things, they miss appointments, they only do one thing at a time when they could be doing two.
Good time management is a major building block to success. Oftentimes, it's not how much time we spend working but how efficiently we do the work. The key to successful time management is careful planning and setting priorities.
Plan your day, your week, and your month in advance. Know when things need to be done. A great way to "buy time" is to multi-task. Do more than one thing at a time. There are many things that do not require concentrated mental effort. These are more easily combined.
"Failing to plan is planning to fail," -unknown
Even though I am a big pro football fan, I can't justify sitting down and spending three hours watching a game. I have to be doing other things while I do it. Thank goodness for instant replay! I've found this is a good time to spend icing injuries or some other busy work. I can also record the games and watch them while exercising. I exercise about 30 minutes a day so during the football season I can watch a game during the week without wasting any time doing it.
When you run errands try to do as many as you can on one trip. If you are self-employed, you can combine personal errands that are on the way to a business errand and have the mileage written off as a business expense.
I've been fortunate to have been able to work at home for the past ten years. It's been great because I hate to waste time commuting. If you must commute, you can use the time to listen to audio self-improvement tapes, audio books or anything educational.
If you are a regular exerciser and belong to a gym, think about working out at home. If you lack the space and money for exercise equipment, try traditional body weight exercises. A little research on the Internet can show you websites devoted to this subject. Even though I lifted weights for 20 years, I've converted to body weight exercises. I've found they feel better and get the same if not better results. Of course, if you go to the gym to socialize or network, that's okay. You're doing more than one thing at a time. You can go walking with your wife. That way you're getting exercise and husband / wife interaction at the same time.
Setting priorities enables you to get the most important things done. Keep you eye on the big picture. Don't let low priority things bump off the higher priority tasks from your schedule. If you've only got so much time, it's imperative you spend your time doing the things that bring you the most benefit.
"Things which matter most must never be at the mercy of things which matter least." – Goethe
Time is so precious. If you want to be successful in life you need to be spending more time being productive and doing things that are moving you forward. Spending hours a day watching TV, playing computer games, or surfing the Internet is not productive time usage. We all need downtime but you need to determine how much is really necessary. If you use your productive time efficiently then you will have more time to relax and do the fun things.

Prepare for Opportunity - From Galley Slave to Multi-Millionaire
In the epic classic book and movie, Ben-Hur, the main character, Judah Ben-Hur, through an accident and tragic misunderstanding is arrested and sold to work in the mines by the Roman authorities. Despite going from the son of a wealthy family to slave, Ben-Hur refused to fall into despair. He exercised and built his strength up. When he was ready he inched his way up the mineshaft and made it to the top. Unfortunately, he was easily captured because he was blinded by the sunlight after spending so much time in the dark mine shaft.
His captors were so impressed with his strength that they sold him to the Roman navy as a rower for their warships. Again Ben-Hur refused to give up. He used his great strength to become the best rower on the boat. Eventually, he was given the special privilege of not being chained to the boat.
Later in a great naval battle, his boat was rammed and sunk. Because Ben-Hur was not chained, he was the only slave to escape. He was able to save the admiral who had given permission to have him unchained. The admiral was so grateful; he took him to Rome and adopted him as his son. Later when the admiral died, Ben-Hur inherited his great wealth. He eventually made his way back to Jerusalem and was reunited with his mother and sister.
What can we learn from this story? Instead of slipping into despair from the injustice done to him, Ben-Hur burned with great desire for freedom and to right the wrong done to him. He refused to give up. Despite the hopeless situation he found himself in, he spent his time preparing himself. When opportunities came he took advantage of them.
Winston Churchill
"To every man there comes . . . that special moment when he is figuratively tapped on the shoulder and offered the chance to do a special thing unique to him and fitted to his talent. What a tragedy if that moment finds him unprepared or unqualified for the work which would be his finest hour."
Many have had to go through tough times. Many think their situations are hopeless. Many think they are in dead-end jobs going nowhere. There is an amazing miracle waiting for those who bide their time by preparing and improving themselves.
Develop your talents. Don't waste your time spending hours watching TV or spending unproductive time on the Internet. Take classes. Successful people never stop learning. Improve the skills you already have. Improve your reading, writing, and vocabulary.
There seems to be a universal law which seems to always send opportunity to those who are moving forward. You will be amazed when that opportunity comes along that your unique collection of talents and abilities fits it perfectly.

The 2 basics ingredients to unleash the creative process.
Copyright 2006 Emmanuel Segui
The subconscious mind is more powerful and knows a lot more than our conscious mind does. The subconscious mind is connected to an infinite power that could be called the collective mind.
If you don't use this collective mind which is powerful enough to make all your dreams a reality, you are left alone and you won't enjoy all the good that you deserve.
Understanding the complexity of the subconscious mind is good but not tapping into this great spiritual reservoir that lies within and making the connection with the divinity is foolishness.
There are two basic ingredients in the creative process. If you want to tap into your subconscious or creative powers, you have to follow these two steps.
First, relax and see yourself already in possession of all the good that you desire. Build your imagination. Imagination builds cities. Imagination builds companies. Ideas build financial empires and freedom.
The subconscious mind doesn't know the difference between reality and fantasy or imagination. Ideas that are formed in your mind are real and everything that you tell the subconscious mind to be the truth is the truth.
The power of your subconscious mind is a dynamic power which is never turned off. But if you do not know the secret of this power, you would be inclined to say that your subconscious is eccentric because it can "go along" with "outside" influences. At such times, if your subconscious could speak, it would say: "Apparently my master wants to act this way, so I'll support that action."
This is one of the laws of the subconscious mind: the law of compliance.
Once you have defined and clarified what you really desire, then the second step is faith. Faith is a strong belief that dictates that whatever is necessary for you to reach your goal will indeed occur. Faith is not just an idea. Faith is trust. Faith in yourself or in a friend means that you believe and trust him or her.
Faith is letting go. I define, clarify and affirm what I desire. Now, I have faith that it will occur in its time. I trust and I let go. Don't force it to happen. It will naturally... because of your faith, trust and letting go.
The ultimate answer to why life is good or not good is centered in the control or lack of control of a power that is possessed by everyone. Control of this power brings results as if "by magic." Controlling the power of the subconscious mind means first mastering your thoughts so that you affirm only positive commands.
And once you imagine all the positive things that you desire and deserve, allow yourself to connect with this divinity, this collective mind that will bring to you everything that you imagine.
This is the true power of your subconscious mind. Don't fool yourself by relying on your own power alone. No one has ever enjoyed true happiness, wealth and health by relying on their own minds alone.
This new attitude will bring about new habits, habits of success. You will experience a new life and you will find yourself happier than ever before.
Freedom. At last, freedom.
